Supervision and Training: Mentor and supervise junior optometrists, optometry students, and support staff. Provide training on clinical techniques, equipment use, and patient management. Quality Assurance: Implement protocols and guidelines to ensure high standards of care. Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives. Research and Development: Engage in clinical research to enhance practice and contribute to the field of optometry. Stay updated on advancements in optometry and incorporate them into practice. Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness. Conduct workshops and seminars on vision care. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and data protection laws. Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of diagnostic equipment and technology. Ensure proper use and training of staff on equipment. Collaboration: Collaborate with ophthalmologists, general practitioners, and other healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care. Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases. OPD Handling Specifics: Patient Interaction: Greet and assess patients, gather medical histories, and understand their visual concerns. Appointment Scheduling: Manage patient appointments, ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care.
